I have a little soft spot in my heart for elopements. Sweet, simple, quiet. So when I started talking to Brooke and Galen about their simple elopement on the banks of the McKenzie River by the Goodpasture covered bridge outside Eugene, my heart was all a-flutter. The reality when we got there was even better.

These two met in graduate school at the University of Oregon and they loved this bridge while they lived a little closer. Now they live in Portland for work, but it holds a special place in their hearts and their history. I think it was the perfect spot to pick to tie the knot surrounded by their families.

Galen’s parents brought this cute “Slow: Wedding Ahead” sign and a table with champagne and some flowers. It was the perfect simple touch.
