Oh. Did I mention the blue Manolos? There were definitely blue Manolos.

Laura and Kelly are such good friends to Morgan, and they were a blast to hang with on the big day.

Same totally goes for these guys, Casey and Drew. They also brought the handsome for their portraits.

This was the most fun I’d had doing wedding party portraits for a long time! Talk about texture in the Pearl District! We only had to walk a few steps for all this color and excitement.

As if all this magic hasn’t been enough, when we got back to the reception, there was the dessert. Prepared by Pix Patisserie in Portland, there were eight kinds of dessert (not including their gorgeous yellow wedding cake, center below). I think pretty much everyone at this wedding was in complete heaven.

Morgan and Brandon, congratulations! It has been absolutely amazing working with the two of you and I wish you all the happiness and love in the world!

I think one of my very favorite parts of this wedding was the live music. Morgan and Brandon had ukelele music during their ceremony, and Morgan walked down the aisle to “What a Wonderful World/Somewhere over the Rainbow.”

You can tell a lot about people by their friends and the people they surround themselves with, and Morgan and Brandon’s wedding guests were some of the sweetest people, who only had great things to say about the couple.

Another clever touch: The couple’s favors were these tiny cactus plants with different inspiring words stuck in them. For scale, the pots were about two inches across!

The wedding was at Venue Pearl, which has a great bridal suite and was really a joy to work with. It’s a great modern, urban venue.

Brandon was so excited before he saw Morgan on their wedding day. I love how he’s sweet and introverted, and she is outgoing, but just as sweet.

We integrated these yellow “billy balls” into Morgan & Brandon’s engagement session, too — they were the perfect modern touch for their wedding.

Seriously, she was radiating happiness like this all day. Scratch that — she’s been radiating happiness like this since the moment I met her. And the moment below (when she saw Brandon for the first time all ready to walk down the aisle — was absolutely no exception.

Their amazing four-tier cake came from Beaverton Bakery — it was one of the biggest wedding cakes I’ve seen!

Going for the garter…

These little flower girls were so much fun — they danced and danced all night.

Then this happened: a totally spontaneous “Billie Jean” dance-0ff between these two guys. It was pretty funny.

This last one is my favorite from the whole wedding — I love the light, the mood and the feeling. These two are so in love.

Katy and Justin, it was amazing to be there for your wedding with all your family and friends. Thanks for making me “one of the family,” and I wish you guys a long and happy marriage!

I loved these cool little aisle decorations with the vases and red flowers.

Katy’s walk down the aisle was pretty amazing — first, her horse-drawn carriage and then her walk down the rest of the aisle with her dad. She was so happy to see Justin at the end of that aisle!

Katy had a big wedding party — lots of bridesmaids around to help her and hang out. She even had three little bridesmaids, who walked in with a couple of little dogs. It was so cute!

This kiss was right after Justin saw Katy for the first time.

Stephanie was a calm, graceful bride — I love that!

And Thomas, ever the dapper groom, was totally stunned once he saw Stephanie all dressed up like a bride. I think it took everyone’s breath away, actually.

These guys were so great together, clearly so thrilled to be married and to have all their friends and family together to celebrate with them.

Melissa, thanks again for the opportunity to shoot with you! And to you, Stephanie and Thomas, congratulations!

Melissa and Andrew are high-school sweethearts (which is actually when I met them) and they’re the best match because they complement each other: Andrew is funny and charming, and Melissa is introspective and thoughtful. I loved what Melissa’s sister Stephanie said during her toast: “Andrew, make Melissa take risks. Melissa, make Andrew slow down and appreciate the quiet moments.”

I had so much fun photographing this wedding. Thank you so much, Melissa and Andrew, for being a dream to work with and for being such loving people. You inspired me, and I wish you years of happiness together!

These girls were all so nice. They all knew exactly what Melissa needed from her friends (and sister) that day, and they rallied around her so that she would be comfortable and taken care of.

On the Fourth of July, I think both Melissa and Andrew started out pretty nervous. They slowly got ready (which was more getting ready for Melissa and quite a bit of Wii Mariokart for Andrew) and then they got ready to see each other for the first time on their wedding day.

This is Andrew with his parents, and below, Melissa with hers. I love seeing how proud parents always look on their child’s wedding day.

The light was perfect that day, with soft billowy clouds rolling over Salem.

Melissa’s bridesmaids all wore hot pink shoes and, well, you know how I feel about shoes. Especially bright-colored ones.
