Fun Facts: Megan Clark of Hi, Friend Design

We’re back with another fantastic personality that happens to be a wedding vendor. Of course she’s awesome, so we’ve covered that. But let’s learn a little more about Megan Clark, one of the brilliant minds behind the fab stationery at Hi, Friend Design.

Megan Clark Interview

Fun Fact #1: Megan grew up in South Dakota. She says that for fun, they used to do things like push hay bales around. Classic.

Fun Fact #2: She loves great danes. She had one named Mandy for three years.

Fun Fact #3: Megan didn’t go to Disneyland until she was 19 years old, and she totally hated it. Stressful and chaotic, she remembers, although says she’d probably like it more if she went back now.

And a little tidbit about stationery? Megan designed her own wedding invitations in excruciating detail, hand illustrating their wedding venue and she and her husband into the art and printing them using thermography. So fancy!

Megan’s a major overachiever — she’s got three businesses. Check them all out: Hi, Friend Design, Clark & Co. & The Exceptional Creative. Go, Megan, go!

Fun Facts: Rosemary Stafford

Today, I’m bringing you yet another new kind of column here on the blog. I’m going to introduce you to some of my favorite wedding vendors. These people are the coolest. They are all extremely talented and I think it should go without saying that they’re the best there is in what they do. But if I told you that Rosemary Stafford was an awesome floral designer, we’d be on the fast track to snoozeville. Because obviously she’s a great floral designer. But there’s a lot more to her than that. So come, learn three fun facts about Rosemary Stafford.

Rosemary Stafford, Floral Designer

Fun Fact #1: She has a vintage apron collection that’s pretty serious. She owns 80-100 vintage aprons — she’s wearing one of them in the photo above. Aren’t they fun? They’ve become such a part of her life that she sometimes dreams that she’s shopping for aprons.

Fun Fact #2: She sings a mean “Copacabana” at karaoke. Close seconds: “Downtown” by Petula Clark and “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness.

Fun Fact #3: She comes from a seriously creative family. Her dad studied ceramics and her mom studied weaving back in the day, and she has a 14-year-old brother who is studying to become a blacksmith.

And, OK, we’ll talk flowers: She loves texture! Her favorite flower is “the one she hasn’t met yet,” meaning she’s always looking for something totally unexpected.

You can find Rosemary and her mad flower skills at rosemarystafford.com. Book her, because I love to photograph her flowers. Case in point: The below photos, which she arranged for our British Pop photo shoot and Casual Outdoor wedding photo shoot. Gorgeous, no?
